What information do you need when I call?

To ensure our response is as fast and as accurate as possible, we need your exact location. If you are stranded on the roadside, please provide us with as much information as possible including visual references for our mobile locksmiths.
We also need you to state the exact nature of your problem. For example if you are locked out of your car, you will need to tell us the make and model of your vehicle, what kind of doors, whether or not you have a key. It's not essential to know the VIN, but it can be beneficial to our locksmiths.

What is a transponder key?

Why is my transponder key not working?

Occasionally keys may malfunction. If the signal is recognised by the vehicles immobiliser, the engine will start. If the signal is not recognised, or has been weakened by damage to the transponder, the immobiliser will shut down vital operating systems to the engine and your vehicle will not start. This technology greatly reduces the risk of auto theft and provides peace of mind for vehicles owners.

How is my Transponder key programmed?

Every car is programmed differently. Most transponder keys come pre-programmed with a fixed code. This means that it cannot be changed to match the vehicle. The solution to this is to program the vehicle to recognise the new code. This is done with a variety of equipment depending on the year make and model of the car.
